All of the writing on this site was authored and edited by human beings. AI was not used in the writing or production of this site.
Simon Collison designed and built this site. He also designed our logo, created our brand color palette, and helped us find our main font, Tisa Sans Pro.
All of the wonderful illustrations were done by Geri Coady.
Tisa Sans Pro is our main content font and was created by Slovenian designer Mitja Miklavcic. It was originally inspired by woodcut slab serif fonts from the 19th century. We love its elegant simplicity and readability. It’s beautifully balanced. We adore the nod to wood as the original inspiration.
Neue Montreal Mono was created by Amélie Bonet, a freelance type designer from Berlin, and Canadian designer Mat Desjardins and founder of Pangram Pangram Foundry. We use it for our site navigation and main headings. It’s a striking and modern monospace typeface, bringing back memories of writing code and working with typewriters while putting a contemporary twist on both. It was created in 2023.
The site is built using Eleventy, a static site generator. It is hosted with Netlify. We use Buttondown to send newsletters.
